Monty moved with his parents to Naples when he was twelve and graduated from Barron Collier High School. He attended North Carolina Wesleyan College on a basketball scholarship and attended Santa Fe Community College and the University of Florida. For fifteen years he has worked in and owned his own cabinet-making company. Monty currently serves as Director of Youth Ministries at Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples.
Monty believes in reaching out to kids and going to “their” turf to form relationships and develop their respect. He is the life skills coach at Naples High School for the football and track teams and also has a close working relationship with the Young Life Club at Barron Collier High. His summer highlight is taking kids on an annual mission trip to Mexico -- to get them out of their culture and experiencing building homes for the destitute as well as learning what it is like to spend a week without being “wired”—no cell phone, internet or tv.
Monty is married to his wife of 14 years, Tricia. They have four children ages 7-13: Mackenzie, Madison, Molly & Mason (twins). As a family, you can find them around Seagate Elementary and Pine Ridge Middle, or playing ball in parks around the city.
